Hawaii Business magazine is pleased to announce the Top 100 Realtors for 2015 – the gold standard in identifying the state’s top performers. Robert Kildow of Hualalai Realty took top honors with only 14 transactions. Each of those deals were for luxury properties at the Hualalai Resort – including the state’s most expensive residential sale of $17.9 million. On average, Kildow’s transactions were $7.9 million. On several sales, Kildow was both the selling and the buying agent, which means he received double credit, per our methodology.

Year to date, 13 transactions have closed with an additional 16 in escrow, for a total of 29. In comparison, there were 34 transactions for all of last year, and 2012 was a good year! Inventory levels have declined to all-time lows and interest remains high.

This month we have closed 3 transactions and have put an additional 8 properties in escrow totaling over $35,825,000 closed and in-escrow sales. The sales successes of 2012 together with this month have resulted in a nearly 40% reduction in available properties over the same time last year.

Several annual events take place here this month and in early January, among them: the Hualalai Golf Club Match Pay Championship, Holiday Skins Game, the Hualalai Family Cup Golf Tournament and Awards Lunch and the Hualalai Golf Club Stroke Play Championship. In January, the Hualalai Course – the first Nicklaus design on Hawaii Island – hosts the season-opening PGA Champions Tour “Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai”. Hualalai Club Members are among the few eligible to play in the prestigious pre-championship Pro-Am event paired with some of the legends of the sport – Fred Couples, Tom Watson, Hale Irwin and Tom Kite just to name a few. Late last summer, Four Seasons Resort Hualalai’s signature restaurant, Pahu‘i‘a, closed its doors quietly and nearly two months and $2 million later an entirely re-invented (and renamed) restaurant emerged to rave reviews from Hualalai homeowners and hotel guests alike – ‘ULU Ocean Grille + Sushi Lounge.

And while a diverse, constantly evolving calendar of events exists throughout the year – from member-guest golf tournaments and innovative culinary programs to holiday celebrations and Hawaiian cultural events – activity levels soar during the summer season.

Since opening our doors in 1996 there have been over 635 closings, and last month Hualalai Resort surpassed the $2 billion sales mark! 2011 was our 3rd best year since opening and 2012 is off to a terrific start with 22 closings totaling $73,825,000 compared to 12 closings in 2011. A result of these strong sales is a reduction of inventory levels, which we have not seen in a few years. There has been a 50% reduction in condo residences, a 30% reduction in villas and a 15% reduction in homes from June 2011.
